Fitness – To Work Our Muscles and Weaknesses, Both Physical, and Mental
Fitness is something people do for many reasons, and there are tons of ways to stay fit and active. Often we get stuck in ruts of routine when it comes to our fitness and then get bored and fall off. There are many different ways to work out the muscles, the body, and the mind. Make sure to change up your routines regularly to avoid “burning out” on your own workouts!
If you aren’t feeling great an hour or two after your workout anymore, or after being active. It might be time to change up your routine!
Like any skills such as these, kids learn them best through example. What they see consistently, they will often attempt to recreate. It can be difficult for us adults as well, especially busy parents. Mixing fitness and exercise into the things we already do on a daily basis and making sure our kids understand why, will often get them to want to participate as well.
Start with watching TV. You could have a contest that every time there is an action or word said in the show everyone has to get up and do some jumping jacks. Family could require pushups between shows, see how many can be gotten before the next show comes on, make it a game, make it a challenge!
Here are some great power phrases you can use for yourself as mantras, have your kids repeat excitedly, or use them as family motivators! There are also some power questions to help kids understand perseverance a little better!

FITNESS DRILLS: FITNESS TEST – DAILY ATTEMPT (after warmed up) to see how many pushups can be done in 60 seconds (best with partners to count) and how many situps can be done in 60 seconds with partner holding feet. Only count good ones.

Could we stop between shows or before/after a movie and do 20 pushups to stay fit? YES SIR
